Finally, I decided to give Huel a try. I looked at their website and was interested in Huel black edition. This edition have 50% more protein and 33% less carbs, which I was after something like this. Since I decided to cut carbs from my diet, I thought this Huel edition would replace my regular meal (some of it).

Flavours
I can not buy only 1 bag. I must choose 2 bags minimum. So I chose chocolate and vanilla of 1.53 kgs each. I had an option to choose either one time or monthly subscription, I chose one time. If had chosen the the later, I would have got 10% off. Where as for one time it was £55.56 – a mere difference of £5.56.

Get that discount
When buying online, everyone wants to save some money, right? So like everyone, I searched the web if I could find any promotional code. Luckily, I found one discount link in some kind of forum. Whoever posted that link, it was his/her referral link. That means if I buy from that link I would get a discount on my purchase and referral person would also get a discount on their next purchase. Its a win-win.

Delivered
Delivery was super fast. After placing the order, It came the next day via DPD courier (respect to the driver delivering at a tough time like this). Once delivered, I decided to open the chocolate bag and start from there since I love chocolate flavour. I did not want to take 2 meals from the start. I wanted to gradually increase the intake. On first day, I took only 50g of Huel (or 1 scoop), that’s half a meal. Next day, I took 100g or 1 meal. Each meal will have 400 calories. On fourth day, I took 2 meals a day, giving me 800 calories.

Low carbs
After the mid week, I was having 2 Huels a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I was still having normal-solid-food as dinner but with a twist. I cut out high carbs food from diet such as pasta, bread, rice, noodles, fizzy drinks etc. also the red and lean meat since I am a pescatarian. For dinner I was only having green vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, carrots, celery topped with omelet. Later in the evening with protein shake post work out. Although I had a cheat day on Saturday where I had rice in dinner and other Saturday a veggie burger with double patty (it was delicious).

Side effect
Ever since having solid food 2 times a day for 2 weeks, I only went to loo for number 2 after every 3 or 4 days (I think). And I was farting every 10-15 minutes (not exaggerating), even at work in the office I was doing it like there was no tomorrow. I have 2 colleagues who are known for farting, they could not bear my fart in the office. Man, did it stink? My one colleague even said, “It stunk worse than horse s**t”. I do not blame him. Even I felt I was suffocating in it. My colleague turned on ventilators and sprayed the room. Some of the poison residue was still in the room.
Every now and then when I had to release, I went to the loo and pass it there. Was I embarrass? No. Not in the office at work at least. As I mentioned my other 2 colleagues does it all the time. The duo are always in a competition. But when I entered the competition, I was the alpha. Okay I shall stop this now.
Verdict
I do not know what caused the above situation. Either it was 2 meals a day of Huel or that I was only having vegetables (pescatarian dinner). Might as well be both. Anyway, I have changed the Huel meals now, I am only taking 1 meal a day, and above situation have improved.

I finished the chocolate one and taking vanilla flavour now. I like the vanilla flavour instead of chocolate. Huel Bar v3.1 looks tempting though. I might give this a try.
